Living with Lupus can be tough, scary and overwhelming to say the least. I get asked a lot, how I stay so positive knowing what I go through with Lupus.
Personally, I have always tried my best to look on the bright side which I believe is a huge part of my personality and mindset in general. I’ve had a good think and listed 5 key things for you which I believe are what keeps me the happy bubble I am.
Here are 5 things that help me stay positive:
1 – Focus on the positives
I know this may be hard, but try and take the situation at hand and think about the good things coming from it. Perhaps start a gratitude book and fill this with 5 things you are grateful for every morning or evening to help remind you of the good things in life.
2 – Do keep only positive energy in your life
Kick the negative people out! You don’t need those people in your life who bring your energy down. Surround yourself with genuine friends and family who can empathise, bring joy and laughter rather than draining your energy even more. By closing your circle and allowing only positive energy in, it will in turn brighten your mental health. As Marie Kondo says,
“Does this spark joy? If it does, keep it. If not, dispose of it.”

Yes this applies to people too!
3 – Stop caring about what other people think
Honestly, just stop! By doing this, your mind will be so much more free. Your happiness comes from within, stop doing things to please other people and start doing things that makes YOU happy.
4 – Don’t worry about things out of your control
This one is a biggie for me that I believe in 1000%.
If a situation is out of your control, and there is nothing you can do to help, then what is the point in worrying? In my eyes, there is literally no point, you are only worrying yourself over nothing.
5 – Make the most of what you have
Live in the moment, make the most of what you have right here, right now.
Final thoughts
These 5 rules can apply to anyone, health condition or not you can use these tips to help you improve your quality of life. I hope this can help you, and remember you are a m a z i n g : )
