Firstly, I would like to thank you all for taking the time to visit my blog. It has been a whirlwind of an adventure for me so far and has taken me a while to pluck up the courage and start this blog.

My name is Ruby and I am just an ordinary mummy taking each day as it comes. Life began normally, I lived in a good neighbourhood, went to school, made life-long friends, had my rebellious phase, picked myself back up, achieved OK grades, dragged my behind to university and graduated. I think we can all agree that that is pretty standard?

So, why has it been such a difficult decision and why was it so important for me that I started this blog? After picking myself back up from rebellion, I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE), a chronic autoimmune condition at the age of 16 during my first year of A-levels. Please have a read of my first ever blog post here for the full story. Long story short, this blog is important to me as it is a way to not only express my thoughts and feelings, but also to keep my friends and family informed, spread awareness and face this head on. I hope I can help others battling illness to keep fighting and bring positivity into their lives as I believe it is something we all need!
